First of all I am very happy and honoured to conduct this webinar.
It is for me a beautiful chance to bring together my experiences from different fields which I crossed in my life.
What follows are some fundamental ideas on which I base the structure and the content of this webinar, which does not require any prior experience or knowledge from the participants.

[A note on the basic ideas of the webinar]
First of all I am very happy and honoured to conduct this webinar.
It is for me a beautiful chance to bring together my experiences from different fields which I crossed in my life.
What follows are some fundamental ideas on which I base the structure and the content of this webinar, which does not require any prior experience or knowledge from the participants.
One of the features of our days is that all things happen very very quickly
and we engage in a tremendously speedy style of life.
To be more specific, I think that every moment we are bombarded by tons of mostly useless information.
Moreover, fundamental training of awareness of our authentic needs is not at all part of our education.
So, we do not develop so much our skills to filter the incoming stimuli.
Very often we end up running and running with no specific purpose,
lost in instinctive and automatic responses to what happens.
We finally consume stimuli, no matter what stimuli. And as a consequence of lining in a “noise” of stimuli we desensitise: I mean that we become unable to give any meaning to our senses, since we are simply consuming what they are bringing in our being every moment.
Now, going to the “hearing”: hearing is one thing. “Listening to”, is another thing:
it involves hearing, PLUS the energetic and not passive assimilation of what we are hearing.
Listening to, is connected with awareness of what our hearing brings in our subjective reality as it gets invested by personal meanings.
And I mean the word awareness in an holistic approach: senses, mind, feelings, needs, meaning, energy to respond to, all interconnected and coming together in a whole of experience.
Furthermore, since listening to is connected with awareness, it means that it has to do also with accepting difference and otherness: when I am listening to, I know where and what I am now, and I know and accept and respect what is the source of the incoming sound, even if we merge for some time incommon flow.
Alfred Tomatis did a great job in showing that our ability
to listen to is an energetic and not a passive action, that it is associated with our ability to select the audio incoming signal on which we wish to focus on, that is associated with the richness of our voice, that it ming connects directly and very importantly with our ability to really communicate – actually, to get in contact with Others and the world. So:
***A very brief reference to some basic Tomatis’s principles is a part of this webinar.
***Seeing the sense of hearing as a basis on which can be developed the skill of “listening to the world” is another part.
***And a third part are some introductory methodological practices to develop this skill. A skill which is a very “fine” instrument, a kind of “art” supporting our quite forgotten need of the broader art to be truly “alive”.
