***A video introducing the webinar

😰  As in our species we have the capacity of conscious thinking, we are able to observe our own experience.
So, we can both sense as well as mentally understand the processes of change while we move on in life step by step on our timeline.

And change is not at all something easy.

Even if it is for good, it is always a transformation and it always means that we leave something behind: we are actually “loosing” it to make space for the new.
Moreover, as we change crossing the impasse of our middle age (from about 35 to 55) and we feel our time-horizon not so endless as it seemed to be in our youth, we start tasting for good the ephemeral (the mortal) character of all things – and of course of our own beings.

The result is an overall transformation,

reaching the core of our being. And of course strong, deep and contradictory feelings as well as often impulsive responses in our everyday life events, that now seem to escape our control.
The isolation and desensetization of our times do not seem to be so helpful for somehow framing what happens during this so critical and unavoidable for all of us change.

Thus, the so beautiful song by Simon & Garfunkel “Bridge over troubled water” (both music and lyrics are superb…), becomes more and more meaningful when we speak about Midlife crisis.

In this webinar

***we shall see this so important midlife phase mainly on its deep, existential roots and not so much on advices about “what to do” or “how to overpass”.

***Additionally, we shall open our view to the common denominators of Midlife crisis with ANY KINDOF AGING, changes, since change can be for us, humans, at any time, a crisis…

The webinar is not addressed only to psychotherapists and psychologists. It is addressed also to anyone wishing:

(a) to dive into the dark waters of our inherent agonies about our available time passing by like unstoppable drops of vitality
(b) to explore what can and cannot do the any kind of “bridges” that we might devise to somewhat stand the echoing depths of these waters.

Bridge Over Troubled Water [lyrics] – [SONG]
When you’re weary, feeling small
When tears are in your eyes, I will dry them all, all
I’m on your side, oh, when times get rough
And friends just can’t be found
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
When you’re down and out
When you’re on the street
When evening falls so hard
I will comfort you
I’ll take your part, oh, when darkness comes
And pain is all around
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
Sail on silver girl
Sail on by
Your time has come to shine
All your dreams are on their way
See how they shine
Oh, if you need a friend
I’m sailing right behind
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will ease your mind
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will ease your mind
